Enveloping both sides of the Kankakee River for 11 miles in an area 6 miles northwest of Kankakee the park consists of approximately 4000 acres. They do have many off trails to explore too.

The Kankakee River Trail is a moderately trafficked point-to-point trail of 169 kilometers situated near Bourbonnais Illinois with a suitable river for all levels of ability. We did hike 103 miles and did stop to explore nature.
